Final Essay Instructions
\nThere will be no midterm or final examinations in this course. However, students will work
\nindependently to complete one (1) final essay. Essay prompts have been pre-selected by the
\ninstructor. Review page 2 of this document for the essay prompts. Students are allowed to
\nselect one (1) essay prompt of their choice and complete a five (5) page paper. The paper
\nmust include 1 cover page + 5 pages of writing + 1 or more ‘References’ pages. Please
\nupload your final essay as a Word Document on BlackBoard under the Assessments tab.
\nPapers should include:
\n\u25cf 1\u201d margins
\n\u25cf 12 point Times New Roman font,
\n\u25cf and be formatted using Help write my thesis – APA (American Psychological Association) guidelines.
\n\u25cf No bold font
\n\u25cf Use italics sparingly.
\n\u25cf No visual graphics (i.e. colorful font, page borders, graphs, charts, photos).
\n\u25cf No slang or non-academic terminology.
\nBe sure to complete a spelling and grammar check. All students are permitted to submit papers
\nto the instructor in advance for a plagiarism check.
\nEssays must include the following three (3) parts:
\nI. Cover Page \u2013 1 page
\nStudents must include a creative title, name, date submitted, academic
\ninstitution, professor\u2019s name. NO graphics or color on this page or any other
\npages.
\nII. Content Pages \u2013 5 TOTAL and FULL pages
\n\u25cf Background
\nThis section should clearly state the political issue you chose, include information
\non the history or background information.
\n\u25cf Assignment help – Discussion of your essay topic
\nThis section should clearly discuss the political topic you chose, including
\ninformation on your answers to the questions along with scholarly references that
\nwill help prove your viewpoints.
\n\u25cf Conclusion
\nIn your conclusion, you must review the main\/midterm points of the essay and
\ncreate a smooth transition to conclude the essay.
\nIII. References Pages
\nStudents are expected to use at least 5 scholarly sources in their essays. This
\nwill be a part of your midterm essay grade along with the content of your essay.
\nStudents are not allowed to use blogs, Wikipedia, or other non \u2013scholarly\/non-reliable sources
\nas references.
\nPlease note: satirical news and podcasts among other related sources are not deemed
\n\u2018scholarly,\u2019 thus they are not to be used as main or core sources. However, they may serve as
\ncreative supplements to other scholarly sources in your essays.
