The main objective of this work was to calculate precision of micropipettes P100 and P1000. From the test, micropipette P100 with volumen 20 provided utmost precision as compared to the other volume which include 1000, 200 and 90. Introduction Precision and accuracy of micropipettes is very essential in every measurement of laboratory equipment’s (Xie et al., 2018). Ideally, evaluation and monitoring of this information relies on exact method and materials which should be carried with utmost precision. The measure of precision and accuracy of micropipettes is normally obtained under two components such as reproducibility and repeatability (Shakoor et al., 2017). Therefore, sampling techniques is always carried out to obtain initial results which are used for overall measurement of precision. Materials and methodology In this paper, the data obtained was evaluated using micropipette to test precision and accuracy. This method involved use of 15ml of water, a balance and micropipette (P1000). Ideally, the use of P1000 micropipette was to account for every fluctuation that may take during the process of measuring the degree of precision. For every micropipette, two volumes were chosen to work with such as P1000 (1000 and 200ml) and P100 (90 and 20ml). Intuitively, the water was placed into the container using the micropipette and the weight was determined using the anaclitic balance. The process was repeated two times for each volume used in the experiment. Finally, standard deviation and average was measured for the two volume for each micropipette. Results The main goal of this paper is to evaluate the degree of precision and accuracy for pipette P100 and P1000 using standard deviation and average. It is evident that the degree of precision for Pipette P100 in volume 20 is more stable compared to others volume. Ideally, the standard deviation is relatively higher in volume 20 (5.7735) as opposed to other pipette and volumes. Discussion Ideally, precision is best addressed by use of reproducibility which rely on standard deviation. Similarly, the repeated measure of the two micropipette is to generate a normal distribution function. This means that difference of observation and the actual mean which is also known as deviation should be close to one or large. Pipette P100 with volumen 90 did not conform to the rule which applies to P1000 with both volumen 1000 and 200. The decision that led to this conclusion is the large surface area in pipette with volumen 90, 1000, and 200.
