The essay is a bit personal because it’s intended to provide certain details/information to your instructor about you(the student). We may need your input so that we can customize it with as much detail as possible. Please check the following 6 points, and share with us short answers where possible(even if it’s just a one sentence response to a section of the points to give us a sketch to work with as most points are related). We can always come up with our own creative essay, however the info that you can share with us will serve as a good foundation for this course’s subsequent engagements.

1. Family and upbringing:
Can you describe your family’s religious traditions growing up e.g. your close family members/composition and including how faith was practiced at home (e.g., prayers, church attendance, holidays), and any key figures like parents or grandparents who shaped your early spiritual views? Also, mention your upbringing the location/state in the U.S. or your home country (in case you are an international student).

2. Personal faith journey:
Walk me through your own spiritual path – church, home and especially elementary school, secondary school or college life experiences; maybe something relating to your religious experiences etc. … like what pivotal experiences, events, or moments led you to embrace (or question) Christianity, and how has your relationship with God evolved over time?

3. Core beliefs and practices:
What are the central Christian beliefs you hold dear (e.g., salvation, the Bible’s authority, Jesus’ role), and how do you incorporate them into daily life through practices like prayer, worship, school , friendships, hobbies/sports if any, work or community involvement?

4. Challenges and influences:
– Have you faced any doubts, trials, or external influences (e.g., culture, other religions, science) that tested your faith, and how did they strengthen or change your Christian worldview?
– Share a significant personal story or testimony from your life where your faith played a pivotal role, such as overcoming a challenge, a moment of doubt, or an experience of spiritual growth.

5. Current worldview and application:
How does your biblical Christian framework and understanding of biblical teachings/stories guide your decision making in areas like ethics, friendships/relationships, work, or current events in the U.S. or your home country (in case you are an international student), and what role does your understanding of the bible/scripture or church play in that today?

6. Looking ahead, what are your goals or aspirations for deepening your faith, such as through community involvement, further biblical study, or sharing your beliefs with others?
