This article raises a significant inquiry: does the underlying purpose of the Common Core Curriculum lean toward instructing teachers to tailor their instruction solely to meet testing criteria? Notably, it emphasizes how factors such as poverty exert a more potent influence on a student’s learning experience than the mere rote memorization of facts (Krashen, 2014).
