Confidentiality: Healthcare providers have a duty to protect the confidentiality of their patients’ medical information. This means that they should not share this information with anyone without the patient’s consent, except in certain limited circumstances, such as when there is a risk of harm to the patient or others.
DNR orders: A DNR order is a document that tells healthcare providers not to resuscitate a patient in the event of cardiac arrest. Patients have the right to make their own decisions about DNR orders, and healthcare providers have a duty to respect these decisions.
